Microsatellite-based assessment of the genetic structure of snapper, Chrysophrys auratus, in Australasia

چکیده
The patterns of variation at 12 microsatellite loci are used to determine whether Snapper, Chrysophrys auratus, is genetically homogeneous across its range in Western Australian waters and elucidate the extent which genetic composition this exploited sparid varies among regions Australasia. auratus was collected from seven locations Australia (WA), southwards Carnarvon (25°05–15′S, 113°25–35′E) on mid-west coast eastwards Esperance (34°30′S, 122°10′E) south coast. levels differentiation samples extending 1350 km Albany (35°20′S, 117°50′E) coast, but not ∼ 410 further east, were low non-significant (e.g. DEST = 0.003; P 0.167). This implies that C. along majority extensive WA. It proposed reflects wide-spread dispersal early life stages (ELS), facilitated by southward-flowing Leeuwin current northward-flowing, wind-driven inshore currents, supplemented movements juveniles adults. sample Gulf St Vincent (central) (34°50′S, 138°10′E) similar those (west) typically distinct (east), west east coasts Australia. structure presumably related how eastwards-flowing and/or westwards-flowing Flinders currents disperse ELS. Microsatellite data imply Port Phillip Bay Sydney Hauraki New Zealand each represent stocks. particularly distinct, indicating population relatively isolated thus potentially more susceptible exploitation. results present other studies indicate, however, gene flow sufficient maintain homogeneity over 100s kilometres, as occurs Thus, spawned one area can act a source recruits for areas thereby ameliorate impacts fishing.

Ontogenetic shift in spectral sensitivity of Pacific snapper Chrysophrys auratus
Electroretinogram (ERG) experiments on the sparid fish Chrysophrys auratus (Forster 1801) demonstrated an ontogenetic shift in spectral sensitivity, from long wavelengths (yellow-orange) in small (60 g) fish, to shorter wavelengths (blue) in larger (800 g) fish. Changes in spectral sensitivity are consistent with the life history of the species, since juveniles migrate from predominantly long w...
متن کاملDecadal Changes in the Abundance and Length of Snapper (Chrysophrys auratus) in Subtropical Marine Sanctuaries
Abundance and length of the highly-targeted snapper Chysophrys auratus were compared between sites in 'no take' areas (Sanctuary Zones: SZ), partial protected areas which are fished (Habitat Protection Zones: HPZ), and areas outside (Outside) the Solitary Islands Marine Park (SIMP), Australia. Baited Remote Underwater Video (BRUV) sampling on shallow rocky reef (15 - 25 m) was conducted annuall...

in fact this study is concerned with the relationship between the variation in thematice structure and the comprehension of spoken language. so the study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any relationship between thematic structure and the comprehension of spoken language? 2. which of the themes would have greated thematic force and be easier for the subjects to comprehend? accord...

flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...
assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea
data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
